Child friendly standards

The basis for the standardization of services is to understand the needs and routines of children and families in order to effectively plan the offer of catering facilities and activities that are an integral part of meeting the needs while using the tourist offer. The standards provide for a range of activities and facilities that are above the mandatory minimum technical requirements for the provision of services in tourism, and are created based on the identified needs of families planning their trip, vacation or weekend experience in accordance with the needs of their children. Emphasis is placed on the importance of both parents and children feeling safe, secure and having access to age-appropriate services.

Standards include

1) Facilities for the provision of services and the services of preparing and serving food and drinks, such as hotels, small hotels, boutique hotel, garni hotel, apart hotel, condo hotels, hostels, guesthouses, resorts, ethno village houses, apartments and rooms for rent;

2) Facilities for providing food and drink preparation and serving services (restaurants, pizzerias, taverns, coffee bars, etc.);

3) Experience destinations – national parks, museums, aqua parks, swimming and riding schools, educational workshops, hiking, biking, …;

4) Renting services – rent a car, rent a bike, rent a scoter, rent a sitter, rent a camper…

Each site, facility for the provision of accommodation and food and beverage services, as well as facilities for the provision of food and beverage services, as well as additional experience and rental services and facilities, at the entrance, or at an adequate and visible the highlight is Child Friendly. For the Basic package, the label will be the Child Friendly logo, while the Advanced Package will be labeled with the Premium Child Friendly logo.

Accommodation

Based on hospitality policy for the brand BASIC and PREMIUM Child friendly, accommodation providers are required to meet the following standards:

• Unobstructed access to the front desk and lobby with strollers and space to accommodate them in the lobby.

• Owning rooms (family rooms) where there is or can be an extra bed for children up to 12 years old and additional facilities such as a stepper or non-slip bathroom rug.

• Baby crib

• Plug-in secured from electrical contact

• First aid tool kit at the hotel reception and direct connection with a pediatrician and dentist

Holders of the brand Basic child friendly accommodation along with the mandatory standards are obliged to satisfy at least 3 standards from the Additional Basic standards box, with their offer.

Holders of the brand Premium Child friendly accommodation, along with mandatory standards are obliged to satisfy at least 5 standards from the Additional Basic standards box, 1 Additional Premium standard and one content for which there may be fee for renting. If there is a fee, the price of costs must be clearly indicated when booking.

Content description

Food & Drinks

Based on Hospitality policy for the brand BASIC and Premium Child friendly, facilities for the provision of food and drink, preparation and serving services are required to meet the following standards:

• Unobstructed access with baby strollers and space to accommodate them

• Baby high chair for feeding for children

• First aid tool kit at the bar and direct connection with a pediatrician in case of injury

Holders of the Basic Child friendly brand for gastronomy along with the mandatory standards, are obliged to satisfy at least 3 standards from the Additional Basic standards box, with its offer

Holders of the Premium Child friendly brand gastronomy along with the mandatory standards are obliged to satisfy at least 3 standards from the Additional Basic standards and a least one Additional Premium standards.

Note: The children’s menu should be a balanced, varied and nutritious serving of food.

Café bars

Based on Hospitality policy for the brand BASIC and Premium Child friendly, café bars for the provision of drink, preparation and serving services are required to meet the following standards:

• Unobstructed access with baby strollers and space to accommodate them

• A menu containing a selection of juices made from fresh fruits and / or vegetables on offer

• First aid tool kit at the bar and direct connection with a pediatrician in case of injury

• Provided a healthy, nicotine-free environment

Holders of the Basic Child friendly brand for café bars along with the mandatory standards, are obliged to satisfy at least 3 standards from the Additional Basic standards box, with its offer

Holders of the Premium Child friendly brand café bars along with the mandatory standards are obliged to satisfy at least 3 standards from the Additional Basic standards and a least one Additional Premium standards.

Experiences

Facilities offering experiences for children and / or family include riding schools, winter sports schools (skiing, sledding …), swimming schools, rafting, educational workshops, hiking and biking tours, playrooms, …

Hospitality policy organizers with the Basic Child friendly brand are required to provide the following standards:

• Unobstructed access with baby strollers and space to accommodate them

• First aid tool kit at the bar and direct connection with a pediatrician in case of injury

• Provided a healthy environment free of nicotine and other substances harmful to health

Organizers recognize that all children who use the content (regardless of age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, ability or disability) have the right to enjoy participation in activities in a safe environment and protected from harm.

The offer covers safety standards as required by law or within the scope of content offering educational experiences through active recreation:

• Provided adult supervision for providing services with the brand Child Friendly service

• The number of persons working with children is established by the rulebook and prominently displayed and / or made available to parents / guardians

• Protective equipment in good preserved condition of different sizes, adapted to all ages of children (helmet, vest, glasses) and according to the type of offer

• Statement of risks and assumption of responsibility by the parent or legal guardian

• Statement / consent of parents or legal guardians to use the photos and / or videos for promotional purposes of the organizer

People, who work with children from 6 months to 12 years with a program that is tailored to the different needs of children according to age, need to know first aid and help indicate drowning (where necessary, such as swimming lessons).

The organizers are required to provide modern training equipment and accessories such as: goggles, vest, hat, among the other equipment for training; For ski school: ski boots, skis, poles and helmets of different sizes for different ages of children.

Rent a…

Facilities offered for rent are bicycles, cars, scoters etc.

Hospitality policy organizers with the Basic Child friendly brand are required to provide the following standards:

• First aid tool kit at the bar and direct connection with a pediatrician in case of injury

• Have a child support seat, in accordance with the law and depending on the type of rental equipment (bicycle, car, etc.)

• Protective equipment in good preserved condition of different sizes adapted to all ages of children (helmet, shields, etc.) and according to the type of offer

• Statement of risks and assumption of responsibility by the parent or legal guardian when renting equipment operated by children (bicycle, scooter, inline skates …)

• Statement / consent of parents or legal guardians to use the photos and / or videos for promotional purposes of the organizer.

Content Providers recognize that all children who rent these assets (regardless of age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, ability or disability) have the right to enjoy activities in a safe environment and protected from harm.
